    Corporate Life Enrichment Director Position Summary:

    Under the direction of the Vice President of Operations, this position is responsible for assisting and mentoring the Life Enrichment Directors in launching new initiatives and creative programs that will enhance the lives of the residents in the American House Senior Living Communities, as well as supporting processes and teams within the field.


    Qualifications and Required Experience for Corporate Life Enrichment Director:

    • Degree in recreational therapy or related field preferred
    • 5 years of experience in activity programming and/or event planning in senior living or a related field such as cruise lines, fitness/health clubs, resorts, etc.
    • Experience in implementing large scale activity programming in senior living
    • Ability to understand and work within a budget
    • Supervisory experience
    • Excellent communication skills and a compassion for older adults
    • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance

    Primary Responsibilities for Corporate Life Enrichment Director:

    • Ensure the highest quality of customer service is available for our residents
    • Mentor and assist Life Enrichment Directors with the tools and knowledge needed to be successful and ensure quality programming for our residents
    • Support Life Enrichment Directors and properties in American House communities to help increase attendance at both existing and new programs
    • Help communities identify resources in their area that are unique and available for American House residents to participate in
    • Maintain a calendar of community events and plan to attend regularly
    • Maintain visibility in each community for all things Life Enrichment
    • Assist with the Connected Living roll out, training and implementation for American House communities
    • Assist with American House Standardized events on a quarterly basis
    • Hold Life Enrichment Meetings for assigned communities that mimic the meetings held corporately, ensuring that all American House Life Enrichment Directors are following similar policies and procedures
    • Facilitate Love is Ageless™ training within assigned communities
    • Assist with ensuring that the Love is Ageless™ program is in place and that all aspects of the program are being implemented in all American House Senior Living communities
    • Help with the coordination and continued growth of programming and partnerships with assigned communities
    • Review Community Calendars and Newsletters for quality programming and events
    • Attend or ensure attendance of all corporate directed events
    • Interface with Executive Directors, property-level Life Enrichment Directors, and Regional Life Enrichment Directors to facilitate solutions to situations involving any resident dissatisfaction
    • Liaise with Regional Life Enrichment Directors and Executive Directors in hiring of new Life Enrichment Directors
    • Travel to various locations and attendance at identified corporate meetings is required
    • Attend Life Enrichment seminars and identify senior living industry trends as they relate to Life Enrichment
    • Prepare reports for investors, owners, and Executive Committee as requested in regards to the Life Enrichment Department
    • Maintain and/or increase occupancy, increase revenue, and/or decrease expenses through Life Enrichment programming
    • Implement the 7 Dimensions of Wellness Program
