Join Our Team as a Medication Technician

 

Are you passionate about elder care? Do you have a knack for ensuring safety and wellness? If so, we invite you to join our dedicated wellness team as a Medication Technician.

In this role, you will be a vital part of our team, administering medications to our residents safely, accurately, and promptly under the supervision of a licensed nurse and the general direction of the Wellness Director.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to residents following established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, ensuring seamless shift transitions.
  • Observe residents and report any changes in their condition to the Wellness Director.
  • Assist residents with daily activities and encourage participation in planned activities.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents.
  • Attend Wellness meetings and required trainings to ensure compliance with all regulations and policies.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to make standard and routine decisions based on training and knowledge.
  • Successful completion of a state-approved medication administration course.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Certified Med Aide or Medication Technician.
  • Experience working with older adults.
  • Knowledge of dementia and related diseases.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, TB test, and physical.

Physical Demands:

  • Standing, walking, sitting.
  • Use of hands and fingers to handle/feel.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Interaction with co-workers, clients, and/or vendors.
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, and/or blood-borne pathogens.
