Position Overview: As a Life Enrichment Director, you’ll be responsible for curating and implementing engaging programs that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents. From coordinating guest entertainers to organizing outings, your creativity and passion will make a lasting impact.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development:

    • Collaborate with residents, families, and staff to create monthly activity programs based on the Seven Dimensions of Wellness Model.
    • Incorporate emotional, intellectual, physical, social, and spiritual experiences into daily activities.
    • Execute signature programs that enhance residents’ quality of life.
  2. Community Engagement:

    • Cultivate positive relationships with external organizations, vendors, and venues.
    • Promote events and activities to ensure resident participation.
    • Represent American House professionally at community events.
  3. Logistics and Coordination:

    • Manage guest entertainers, speakers, and vendors.
    • Prepare monthly newsletters using current program tools.
    • Oversee transportation for group outings and personal appointments.
  4. Technology Integration:

    • Utilize modern technologies to enhance program offerings.
    • Maintain community screens and activity boards.
  5. Financial Management:

    • Handle department petty cash and/or credit card transactions.
    • Balance cash receipts and expenditures monthly.
  6. Qualifications:

    • Degree in Recreational Therapy, Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialist, or Certified Activity Director (experience may be substituted).
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with residents and team members.
    • Passion for working with older adults.
    • Familiarity with senior living industry practices.
    • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
