Area Support Cook – American House Senior Living

The role will require approximately 25% regional (within Florida) travel.
About the Role:
As an Area Support Cook, you’ll work directly under the Regional Culinary Director, providing support to multiple communities, including our Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Estero, Sarasota communties. You’ll step in as needed to ensure smooth culinary operations, maintain high standards of food safety, and deliver outstanding customer service to our residents. This position requires regional travel, a commitment to quality, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of seniors.
Key Responsibilities:
Travel to area communities to support culinary operations.
Prepare and serve meals following American House menus.
Place emergency food orders if necessary.
Maintain proper food handling and sanitation practices.
Use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Support emergency procedures during your shift.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and team members.
Other duties as assigned by the Culinary Director, Executive Director, or Corporate Executive Chef.
Requirements:
Previous experience in dietary or food service techniques.
Excellent communication skills and a genuine compassion for older adults.
Serve Safe Certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to read and interpret facility forms, signs, and product instructions.
Strong verbal communication skills.
