Join Our Team as a Part Time, Medication Technician!
Are you passionate about healthcare and looking for an opportunity to make a difference? We are seeking a dedicated Medication Technician to join our wellness team. In this role, you will be administering medications to our residents in a safe, accurate, and timely manner under the supervision of a licensed nurse and the general direction of the Wellness Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer medications to residents following established policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of medication administration.
- Communicate effectively with team members and relay pertinent information regarding resident care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living and encourage social participation in planned activities.
- Participate in Wellness meetings and required trainings.
Requirements:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both residents and staff.
- Successful completion of a state-approved medication administration course and other state-required certifications.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, TB test, and physical.
Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience as a Certified Med Aide or Medication Technician.
- Experience working with older adults.
- Knowledge of dementia and related diseases.
Physical Demands:
- Standing, walking, sitting.
- Use hands and fingers to handle/feel.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Requires interaction with co-workers, clients, and/or vendors.
- Occasional weekend, evening, or night work if needed to ensure shift coverage.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, and/or blood-borne pathogens.
