Vice President of Senior Living Facilities

Position Summary
The Vice President of Senior Living Facilities provides executive-level leadership and strategic oversight for all physical assets across American House communities. This role ensures each community operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with American House’s core values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence. The VP drives quality and consistency in the built environment to enhance resident satisfaction, strengthen brand perception, and support sales performance through attractive, well-maintained, and operationally sound communities.
This role also serves as a designated pillar leader, responsible for advancing organizational priorities that support operational excellence and resident satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a long-term facilities management strategy that supports operational excellence, organizational growth, and brand differentiation.
- Partner with Operations, Finance, Sales, Investments and Development to align capital plans with organizational and revenue-driving priorities, demonstrating financial stewardship.
- Collaborate with community leadership and regional teams to ensure facilities strategies support occupancy, care delivery, hospitality standards, and community-level business goals.
- Oversee property condition assessments and long-term capital replacement plans to maintain communities that reflect the quality expected by residents and their families.
- Manage transition of assets including developments, acquisitions and third-party management in partnership with other Pillar Leaders.
Facilities Operations
- Lead regional and corporate facilities teams responsible for maintenance, environmental services, and physical plant operations.
- Promote consistency in facility standards across all communities, emphasizing safety, aesthetic appeal, and functionality that contribute to a positive resident and guest experience.
- Ensure integrity and transparency in facility-related decision-making, communication, and reporting.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs to preserve asset value, protect residents and team members, and reduce operational disruptions.
Capital Projects & Construction
- Direct renovation, repositioning, and new construction projects from concept through completion while practicing strong financial stewardship.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to design and deliver projects that improve curb appeal, market competitiveness, and resident satisfaction.
- Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and construction budgets to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in line with brand standards.
- Maintain high standards of integrity and transparency in procurement, contracting, vendor selection, and cost control.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all communities meet or exceed safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, CMS, state/local authorities).
- Lead efforts in emergency preparedness and disaster recovery planning.
- Proactively mitigate risks related to physical plant operations, ensuring the health and well-being of residents and team members.
- Partner with regional teams and community leaders to drive ongoing education and support related to building safety, compliance, and best practices.
Financial Management
- Develop and manage annual facilities and capital expenditure budgets, ensuring alignment with short- and long-term organizational goals.
- Track KPIs related to maintenance costs, energy usage, and asset performance to promote financial stewardship and operational accountability.
- Identify and implement sustainability initiatives that reduce costs, extend asset life, and demonstrate corporate responsibility.
- Provide transparent financial reporting tied to capital planning, expenses, and return on investment (ROI) evaluation.
Leadership & Culture
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing facilities management team that embodies American House’s core values of Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, and Excellence.
- Foster strong collaboration with community and regional leadership teams to ensure facilities decisions support occupancy growth, operational needs, and resident experience.

- Serve as a designated pillar leader responsible for guiding cross-functional initiatives that support company-wide performance, culture, and resident satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive, senior leadership experience in facilities or construction management working for a large corporation with a proven track record of providing high quality facilities management services.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality environments strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multimillion-dollar capital budgets and complex construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, regulatory compliance, and life safety standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.
