Shifts: Overnights 10pm - 6am Assisted Living & Memory Care
Position Summary
The Resident Assistant plays a vital role in supporting residents with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, safety, and overall well-being. This position provides compassionate care and meaningful engagement to residents in an assisted living or memory care environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including:
- Ambulation and transfers
- Bathing and personal hygiene
- Dressing and grooming
- Incontinence care
- Feeding assistance and medication reminders
- Engage residents in group and one-on-one activities that encourage socialization and wellness.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized resident living spaces.
- Assist with laundry, housekeeping tasks, and meal service as needed.
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive condition.
- Accurately document resident care and observations.
- Respond promptly to resident requests, emergency call systems, and family inquiries.
- Follow all safety, infection control, emergency response, and company policies.
- Attend required training sessions and team meetings.
- Support a positive, resident-centered community culture.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience in assisted living, memory care, caregiving, or senior services preferred.
- CNA certification preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of dementia and memory care practices preferred.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain resident confidentiality and professionalism.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout shifts.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents, up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
